Innovation

The web moves too fast for us to stand still. We’ve found that it’s better for our clients if we put innovation at the core of many aspects of our business.

Sites built on emerging standards and best practices will last longer. Picking a good set of standards and technology during site construction will future-proof a site as much as possible, and give the site a longer useful lifespan.

Innovation also gives our clients a competitive advantage. We build tailored solutions, such as novel custom workflows, that can’t be found elsewhere, often for any price.

We released our software under an open source license in 2006. While we could have chosen other licenses, we decided upon the BSD software license. The BSD license allows companies to use our software in any way they see fit. They can use it for commercial purposes, modify it to meet their needs, and never have to get permission from us to do so. Why did we do this? We wanted the broadest possible usage of our software across the web and we want people to feel free to innovate. Innovations with our technology make the entire web better.

Change happens at the edges. We take good ideas from anywhere they arise, because innovation cannot be told where to come from. Well-implemented innovation helps our business last longer. Agile project management, test-driven development, human-centred design, and even our no allocated sick days policy (if you're sick stay home): We do all these things because they make for happier staff and clients.

Innovation takes time, and to really make it stick, it takes ongoing development or multiple phases. In order to build trust and really dive into our clients' business, we prefer long-term engagements.

We like to think of ourselves as an "innovation partner" you can rely on, so you can trust someone's there to make sure you have a winning web presence, both now and in the future.
